IPAC announces strategic partnership with the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation for the production of Unbroken: Two and a Half Decades Documentary movie

The National Chairman of the Inter Party Advisory Council of Nigeria (IPAC), Yusuf Mamman Dantalle, has announced a  partnership with the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation to produce a documentary film titled Unbroken: Two and a Half Decades, a chronicle of 25 years of uninterrupted democratic governance in Nigeria. This film will commemorate the resilience, progress, and democratic evolution of the Nigerian nation since the inception of the Fourth Republic in 1999.

In a press conference with the minister, Mohammed Idris Malagi today at the Ministry’s headquarters in Abuja, the IPAC National Chairman emphasized the significance of this project in showcasing Nigeria’s democratic journey, highlighting the pivotal role of the Council, the Ministry of Information and National Orientation, and various political stakeholders in ensuring democratic sustainability in the country.

Unbroken: Two and a Half Decades will serve as a comprehensive, visually rich account of Nigeria’s uninterrupted democratic governance from 1999 to 2024. The documentary will cover key milestones, challenges, and successes that have defined Nigeria’s political landscape. It will explore the resilience of Nigeria’s democracy, from the peaceful transition of power to the ongoing consolidation of democratic values across the nation. Through compelling drama and interviews, archival footage, and expert analyses, the documentary will delve into the political, economic and social transformations that have shaped modern Nigeria.

The film will feature prominent Nigerian actors and political leaders, including past and present Nigerian presidents, respected policymakers, civil society leaders, and international observers. It will also highlight the important role of the electorate, the judiciary, the media, and civil society in supporting the democratic process.

The documentary is set to offer numerous benefits to Nigeria’s democracy and international image, including:

  1. Promoting Democracy and Good Governance: By highlighting Nigeria’s political achievements, Unbroken will underscore the progress made toward deepening democratic governance and the rule of law. It will provide a global platform to demonstrate Nigeria’s commitment to democratic ideals and human rights.

It will serve as a key resource in schools, universities, and civic education programs for the Gen z screen generation.

IPAC, as the umbrella body of political parties in Nigeria will play a central role working with seasoned cinematic professionals in coordinating the film’s content, particularly in ensuring that all perspectives within the political landscape are represented.

IPAC’s leadership under Yusuf Dantalle will facilitate the involvement of political parties, their members, and other key stakeholders, ensuring a comprehensive and balanced portrayal of Nigeria’s democratic history.

The Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation, led by Mohammed Idris Malagi, will be instrumental in providing logistical support, facilitating access to relevant stakeholders, development partners, patriotic brands, and ensuring the documentary reaches global audiences through various media channels. Their collaboration with topnotch local and international film production teams will be crucial in delivering a high-quality, engaging film that meets global standards.

IPAC is the umbrella body of all registered political parties in Nigeria. It serves as a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and advocacy to promote democratic values, electoral integrity, and national development, while the Ministry of Information and National Orientation is the government body responsible for managing Nigeria’s public relations, promoting national unity, and enhancing the country’s image both domestically and internationally.
